A child was struck by a car and critically injured in Staten Island Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Shortly after leaving school around 15:10, a 10-year-old boy was riding his bicycle when he was hit by a car on the north of the island at the intersection of Nicholas St. and Richmond Terraceaccording to the police.
Doctors rushed the boy to Richmond University Medical Center, where he is in critical condition, police said.

The 28-year-old driver was at the scene.
